October 14, 2021: Kickstarter Reports, October 2021 Update

This is our monthly report on the status of active Kickstarter campaigns. As crowdfunding has become a more significant part of our operations, it is important that we communicate the status of all open projects to the world. We always try to provide realistic delivery dates, but there are times when a project (Car Wars Sixth Edition) consumes far more of our resources than planned for and delivers late. We never want to be late, but as Shigeru Miyamoto said: "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever."

At the moment, we have three active campaigns and one project that is close to launch. Of the three active projects, two are currently in the fulfillment stage.

• 1,533 backers and on schedule
• Success! Next up is to ship the holiday rewards (delivering ahead of all other rewards). If you supported this campaign, please note that the survey deadline is November 1, 2021. BackerKit pre-orders are now open.

Steve Jackson's Munchkin Promo Card and Bookmark Booklets

• August 16 to August 26
• 1,078 backers and on schedule
• The warehouse team is working on project fulfillment and we think we're on track to finish shipping all rewards on schedule.

Car Wars Sixth Edition by Steve Jackson Games

• November 29 (2019) to January 6 (2020)
• 3,936 backers, behind schedule
• All five containers have arrived and we are working on U.S. fulfillment. Games are shipping to backers in the U.S. right now! This will not be a quick fulfillment. Fortunately, the majority of the U.S. backers already have the core game and have started playing! International fulfillment will start once all of the U.S. rewards have shipped. Warehouse 23 pre-orders are now open for those of you who missed the Kickstarter campaign.

We have more projects in the planning and pre-crowdfunding stages, and sometimes everything shifts in unexpected ways. For example, we planned to launch a new Munchkin game on Kickstarter late this month, but circumstances outside of our control forced us to change our plans. Instead, we will take GURPS Girl Genius to Kickstarter later this month.
