December 6, 2020: Holiday Staff Pick: Port Royal

I first played this game with my husband over a coffee and sandwich at the local deli, and immediately fell in love with it. If you're looking for a simple push-your-luck card game – try Port Royal today![Image]

Port Royal is a quick game set in the age of piracy where you're trying to build the best port. To do this, you'll flip cards (trying not to bust) to obtain ships, hire deck hands, and complete missions – all with the goal of being the best pirate merchant and earning 12 influence points before your rivals.

The game plays with 2 to 5 players in about 20-30 minutes. With the constant player interaction, this game keeps everyone involved and moves at a fast pace (before your coffee goes cold, or your husband tries to steal the rest of your sandwich).

Will you make the deal of your life? Your chances increase with every card you flip – but so does your risk of losing it all.

Give it a try today! Pick up a copy of this award-winning game, from designer Alexander Pfister, this holiday season by visiting your Friendly Local Game Store or Warehouse 23!
