May 20, 2026: Why Am I Just Now Hearing About This?!?!

Redhead with a guitar using it like an axe.

I'm back with another post about music.

This time I want to point you toward an entire genre of music that I've recently discovered. It's called Dungeon Synth and it fits right into the vibes I talked about in my previous fantasy music entry. I don't know why it hasn't popped up on my radar before now since Wikipedia says it began in the early 1990s.

I have to credit Jeremy over at Black Magic Craft for bringing it into my algorithm. I've been watching his hobby blog videos for a while and have learned quite a few non-musical things along with this topic. He posted a video about music lately and released some tracks to go along with his dark game, Voidbirth.

As soon as I listened to one of his recommendations, the internet did its thing, and more references and recommendations popped into my feeds. Here are just a few of the songs I've found interesting enough to let drone in the background as I've painted models or worked on game rules:

And if you missed my sci-fi music recommendations, you can find them here.
