August 14, 2005: Like The Dinosaurs, Like The Trilobites

Here's a sad story that rings all too true. (Not worksafe, if your workplace is twitchy enough. So throw a blanket over yourself and your monitor, and look. Hit the NEWS button at the bottom for the equally heartrending non-comic version of what happened.)

I've been there. I've had friends go there. I've had staff go there. God help us all, I have had professional IT staff go there.

One day we will be replaced by creatures who look just like us, and who probably have as little taste in mates, clothes, or TV shows . . . but who back up their data every day. They will outcompete us and we will become extinct.
