April 14, 2005: Here Comes The Autodoc!

Sometimes we think the Pentagon has a copy of GURPS Ultra-Tech and is mining it for ideas . . . Now they're asking for proposals on a remote battlefield "trauma center." Okay, it's not actually a true autodoc, but it's the first step. It is intended to be teleoperated . . . it acts as remote hands and tools for a surgeon who might be on the other side of the world.
