I'm one of those people who visit their favorite game shop fairly frequently but rarely purchase anything. Still, I'm in one of those game groups that always seems to be buying more games than it's playing. This is great for the industry but pretty hard on the old wallet. I've reached the point where I usually look over a game product three or four times before I hand the clerk my much-abused credit card. When I do go home with a new product I'm usually quite happy with it. When I'm really happy with something, I like to tell people about it.

The Star Wars Adventure Journal is one of those products I eye-balled repeatedly. I was pretty skeptical at first. The $12.00 price tag was just high enough to give me pause. Sure the books looked useful, but twelve bucks useful? As luck would have it, a review copy found its way to me and I was finally able to sit down and read an issue. Now I own two issues, I've ordered three more, and I'm searching for the issues I've missed.

So what changed my mind? I've paid twice as much for products with half the substance of one Star Wars Adventure Journal. These books are crammed full of great short stories, Star Wars RPG adventures, great adventure hooks, interesting non-player characters, new ships and equipment, thoughtful source articles, solitaire adventures, interviews, and more.
