Innocence used to say (back when it worked for Nybbas)
that it didn't consider itself to be bad, per se: just
committed to giving humans what they really wanted.
Not superficial junk like money or power or fame -
what humanity really and truly desires is an excuse to
do whatever it is that they feel like doing, deep down
in the darker corners of their souls. Being ridden by
a Shedite's a great excuse, so from Innocence's point
of view everybody one. The Shedite doesn't say that
anymore, though. After it joined up with Furfur,
Innocence has learned to accept that it is, indeed,
bad.
But being bad is good.
It's amazing how switching Superiors can change a
demon's reputation: in an instant Innocence went from
screw-up to valued Servitor. Indeed, the Shedite is
rapidly going up the ladder of rank: it's on the short
list for Words, once the current political situation
has been sorted out. Furfur is always ready to reward
those ready to go out and push things until they bleed
- something that Innocence is always happy to do.
It's not like it has to stick around for the
aftermath, after all.
Currently, Innocence likes to promote Hardcore in the
more inappropriate venues. Starting riots at thrash
concerts or opera performances is just too Damned easy
to be interesting: real artistry is when you do it at
ballet recitals, or Little League games, or anything
else that the whitebreads like to do. Sure, its
colleagues find this a little odd, but the Shedite
points out that Hardcore is everywhere - so if it
isn't obviously present at a particular venue, then it
damn well should be. Innocence has never been in a
crowd where there wasn't a well-repressed urge to cut
loose and take down something: it's happy to bring
those urges right up to the surface and set them free.
For the most part, Innocence's former gig as a Nybbite
isn't too obvious (Nybbas stripped it of its Media
Attunements, not that it had many to begin with).
However, there are a few clues. First off, if given a
choice Innocence will always try to possess the
prettiest human available: it has a fondness for
female hosts, preferably those who normally act in a
restrained (or even repressed) manner. Once it has a
mount, the Shedite will invariably follow the famous
Media dictate about living fast: actually killing the
buggers isn't considered smart, but Innocence is quite
clever at driving its hosts to all sorts of edges in
record time.
About the only thing that can be said for the Shedite
is that it doesn't usually stick around for long: like
its former Prince, Innocence is easily bored. There's
always another human to run around in, and one of the
nice things about being in a riot is that it's really,
really easy to make bodily contact with someone. God
help the poor bugger that actually comes home from the
event with the Shedite in tow, however: this 'easily
bored' thing is very much a two edged sword...
