The Kickstarter for the new Fantasy Trip solo adventure, Path of Mastery, launched last week, and I decided that makes this as good a time as any to talk about all the work that goes into the visual assets for the crowdfunds we do. I've long since lost count of how many Kickstarters, Backerkits, Indiegogos, etc. for which I've designed the graphics. (A bit ironic, since I strive to make each one memorable.) . . .

This is still a developing story, but it appears that one of the AI companies is about to make a big settlement for work that it skimmed off the Internet and used to train its Skynet. And yes, apparently the pirate "archives" that Anthropic used included quite a few works from SJ Games . . .

The cover I love most is actually two covers. And my love is not just for art, but also for nostalgia.
Specifically, it's the cover for The Fantasy Trip.
The nostalgia part is simple: I bought Melee when it came out in a zip bag, from a long-defunct company called Metagaming . . .

The sudden appearance of a prequel for Event Horizon, a gruesome and imaginative sci-fi/supernatural horror mash-up from 1997, was not on my 2025 bingo card. It started to make a little more sense when I found out it's in comic book, rather than movie form . . .

I do most of the meal prep at home, so I'm always looking for new and interesting cooking techniques. When I came across José Andrés' two-ingredient omelet recipe (shown prepped by him here on TikTok), I literally dropped what I was doing (which was, um, messing around on the Internet) and tried it: one egg, one tablespoon of mayo, whisk, pour in a buttered dish, microwave about 40 seconds . . .

For some reason, Facebook thinks I really like watching terrible drivers – and no matter how many terrible-driver videos I watch, they just keep coming. While I try to figure out why that's happening, I can't help but remember folks making illogical turns across multiple occupied lanes of traffic, blazing through red lights to disastrous consequence, or crashing full-on into vehicles – probably because they were on their phones, watching Facebook "terrible driver" videos . . .
