July 1, 2026: Our Own Little Tariff Rebate
You might recall our tariff adventure with Munchkin Big Box. To recap: Mr. Trump announced his superhigh China tariff after Big Box had left the printer and before the ship docked. There was literally nothing we could do except pay it, and we did. How much? "High five figures," as they say. It wasn't in the budget, but it had to be paid if we were going to ship your Big Box.
And there have been other tariffs since then. They added up. But that was the exciting one.
Anyway. Time passed. The courts declared some tariffs, including the big China one, to be illegal, and ordered the money to be returned.
We did not hold our breath.
But lo and behold! A partial rebate was actually received by the company that does our shipping! And they actually expect there will be more.
A lot of companies raised their prices because of the ongoing tariffs. That included us. There has been a lot of fuss in the press about how and whether various giants would return any money to the consumer.
Don't hold your breath.
But here's what we are doing. Effective July 1, and continuing until Gen Con, we're offering a very deep deal in Warehouse 23. Since the tariffs, in the end, were paid by you, we're going direct to you with the "rebate." Here are the rules:
1. $10 off on your order of $30 or more of SJ Games products, either physical or digital.
2. The order must be from a Warehouse 23 account. They're easy to open.
3. One $10 discount per account.
It has not escaped our attention that someone could open multiple new accounts. As I said, it's easy. But if you're into that kind of shenanigans, you should be running for office somewhere, rather than bothering with us.
I hope that if you've gotten anything from us recently – and therefore paid tariffs – that we have something else you've been meaning to buy anyway, and that this can save you 10 bucks, which is not much in the grand scheme of things, but it's a start.
