August 26, 2016 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AUSTIN, Texas (August 26, 2016) – Popular My Little Pony and Gronk comic writer Katie Cook is known for many things. Among them is the famously adorable fan art for things like Star Trek and Alice in Wonderland that she shows off at comic and game conventions.
Now, thanks to a collaboration with Steve Jackson Games, one of Cook's fan visions has become a published card game.
She's illustrated all-new artwork for Munchkin Oz Guest Artist Edition, bringing her dewy-eyed style to Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Wicked Witch, and all the rest of the crew on the Yellow Brick Road.
If you ever wondered what a cuddly Wizard or Tin Man would look like, this is a dream come true.
Play as a chibi-style Professor, Royalty, or Soldier. Brave the Poppy Fields or the Deadly Desert, and visit the Emerald City. Join forces with the Cowardly Lion, Ozma, or fluffy little Toto."Katie Cook's super-cute Oz illustrations have been brightening up Artists Alleys at conventions for years," said Munchkin Line Editor Andrew Hackard. "It's wonderful that we're able to feature her work in the Munchkin Oz Guest Artist Edition."
The release is available exclusively on Amazon.com, as the newest in the line of Guest Artist Editions of Munchkin games. Steve Jackson Games is publishing these Guest Artist Editions throughout 2016 to celebrate 15 years since the original game's 2001 release.
