Imagine a small island in the Mediterranean, just southeast of Italy, which isn't featured on any normal map. As a matter of fact, most people in the world don't even know it exists, even though you could book a ticket there if you tried hard enough. This little island is called Al Amarja, and the government there really values its privacy.

Now imagine that this little unknown island is also a hub of danger, intrigue and extreme possibility. A place where psychic powers are not only real, they're regulated. A place where magic exists, and students at the local university try to summon and control powerful supernatural entities. A place where conspiracy groups meet to plan to take over the world. A place where beings thousands of years old work to control their finest creation - the common man. This place is Al Amarja - the game is Over the Edge.

Over the Edge was originally published in 1992, and has gained quite the cult following since then. It also spawned its own collectible card game, On the Edge, which also gained a sizable following. So what is it that grips the hearts and minds of these people, and has allowed Over the Edge to endure?
