In the gaming industry, one of the many ways to know if you have a winning product is to have a software company translate your wargame or roleplaying game to a PC or Mac format. Agents of Gaming have taken this concept and have totally reversed it: They have taken Sierra On-Line's hit Starsiege {formerly Earthsiege) mecha-combat computer game and have converted it to a table-top format with their new miniature wargame Starsiege: Rebellion.

For those who are unfamiliar with the computer game, Rebellion takes players into the war-torn 29th century where our solar system is controlled by the Great Human Empire. The battlefield of 2829 is dominated by squadrons of traditional tanks, hover vehicles, and the awesome Hercules fighting robots (or "hercs" for short).

Twice before, the robotic Cybrids, led by the genocidal super computer Prometheus, have attempted to wipe out mankind. Rebellion takes place during the third "Earthsiege" when the Empire attempts to suppress colonial uprisings on Mars and Venus. Sensing an opportunity, Prometheus reemerges from hiding to attack a divided humanity.

The game's mechanics are designed for fast and simple. Like most skirmish or micro-armor miniature games, your forces are organized into squadrons that must stay in a certain command radius in order to function. Although Rebellion is designed for free movement, novice and . . .
