Plot and Poison: A guidebook to Drow

160-page b&w softcover; $24.95 US
If you're a fan of the most popular fantasy RPG in the world, you know the drow. You may hate them, love them, or love to hate them, but you know them. You know they're a race of evil elves who were cast out of the light by their more benevolent brethren to be cast into the depths of the Underdark. You know they're a race of unredeemably evil who live in an evil theocracy that worships a vicious spider-queen, and is a matriarchy where men are little more than foot soldiers or slaves. You know they hate all surface-dwellers only little more then they hate each other, and that their society is build on lies, deceit and betrayal. And you know they're most famous for twin-scimitar wielding ranger-type characters. You know them, so there's hardly any use for a sourcebook about them, right?
That's where you'd be wrong. This latest product from Green Ronin's Races of Renown line of racial sourcebooks does a magnificent job of re-introducing you to the drow, allowing you to understand not only what they do, but why. The book is also part of Green Ronin's OGL Interlink series of sourcebooks related to Paradigm Concepts' Races of Legend series. Specifically, this book links with Unveiled Masters: The Essential Guide to Mind Flayers. But like earlier attempts, it's quite usable by itself.
"Chapter One: The Way of Darkness" gives you . . .
