Canadian d20 System publisher, Fiery Dragon Productions has not released quite so many scenarios of late, preferring instead to concentrate upon their various Counter Packs. Their latest scenario, Queen of Lies, is thus a welcome sight . . . and more so because it is written by Monte Cook, co-author of the DMG. From their Morlocklike depiction on the cover by Brian LeBlanc, it is very clear that this adventure involves the ever-popular dark elves!
Designed for four characters of roughly eleventh level, Queen of Lies has only a few requirements for the party composition. The adventure suggests that the party include at least one elf, but the addition of either a paladin or a cleric would be useful, since this is at least one key to getting the party involved in the scenario. Although nominally set in Karathis, the publisher's campaign world, the DM can easily substitute a setting of his choice with almost no effort at all; Queen of Lies requires a large city where a god of knowledge, discovery, and joy is worshipped. In the adventure this is Aesthan, who both men and elves revere, but most campaigns will probably have an equivalent deity.

As the adventure opens, the party learns that the city's temple to Aesthan was attacked the night before, resulting in the death of several acolytes and laymen and the . . .
