Silver Age Sentinels d20 Demo: Incident at Zarya

Article and Art © by Guardians of Order

Welcome to the Silver Age Sentinels d20 solo adventure demo, "Incident at Zarya." This demo is designed as an introductory overview to many of the ideas you will find in the essential superhero rulebook. To use it, you will need one GM, one player, the Player's Handbook, and the information presented in the article, "Silver Age Sentinels d20 Speedster Class Preview" (especially a copy of Slipstream's character sheet).

The Set-Up

White Banner, the renowned mercenary, and a number of loyal soldiers-for-hire, have been paid to recover a top-secret artifact from the Russian space center, Zarya. Zarya is a highly-classified astrological observatory, concealed in a sheltered valley of the Ural Mountains.

The scientists at Zarya have been working for years to decode an alien artifact, recovered from that same valley. An outside party recently learned of the Zarya research, and instructed White Banner to retrieve the artifact using whatever force necessary.

Zarya went offline this morning, panicking many high ranking officers in Russia. Knowing full well how long the military takes to mobilize when facing the unknown, a Russian General, on condition of anonymity, leaked the crisis to one of the world's pre-eminent superhero teams, the Guard. Unfortunately, only one member of the Guard was in residence when the call came in . . . luckily, however, it's their fastest member, Slipstream!
