A Cold Night in Dashgad

Introduction

This adventure is set in Milieu 0, although it can easily be transplanted to a different setting. It is Year 8 of the Third Imperium when the characters arrive on Dashgad (Core/0603), a frontier world on the very edge of the Imperium near the Apge Consortium, an economically-based Pocket Empire of eight worlds. Considerable trade from the Imperium passes through Apge, but Dashgad remains an undeveloped frontier.

Dashgad

The Dashgad system is unusually empty. Apart from the star and Dashgad, the only other major object is a large (252800km diameter) gas giant named Masia.

Masia is orbited by nine moons whose size codes range from 0 to 6, one of which is Dashgad. Only Dashgad has any atmosphere to speak of. It is this unassuming lump of rock which has been granted the rather grand title of Mainworld in the system.

Starport: C. Standard but for a lack of orbital facilities.

Size: 1. 2360 km diameter, with surface gravity of 0.37g

Population: 2. 632 people, of whom 596 live in the main settlement, Smit Town. The other 36 run Dashgoat ranches.

Government: 2. Participating Democracy. Every citizen aged 16 or over is entitled to vote via a computer network on all major policy decisions while the day-to-day running of the world is carried out by officers of the Imperial Colonial Office.
