Many people who read my comments on Brave New World are probably asking, "If you didn't like it, why pick up another book for it?" True, I don't like the game system, and some of the technological advancements don't follow a logical progression, but I felt that the setting has a lot of potential. I wanted to see if Ravaged Planet, the Brave New World Player's Guide, could live up to it.

Let me start off by saying that if you didn't like Brave New World, you won't like Ravaged Planet. It has the same style layout, the same style art, and the same formatting (and to many people that formatting is wasted space).

For those who remain, the good news is that Ravaged Planet gives players important background information, starting with the diary of Patriot, a delta who was executed for a murder he didn't commit. Patriot's diary reads well in that it gives the players a point of view that their own characters might be following. Some examples are what effect the limited nuclear war had, what it was like at the Bicentennial Battle, and of course, and the emergence of his own delta powers. In addition, GM's can mind mine it for the information on how Delta Prime works.

The only problems here are chronological. When Superior first shows up, it's in 1943, when the Yankee and a small group of deltas made a break for freedom and are killed by Kapitan Krieg. This is explained . . .
