December 7, 2015 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Munchkin Zombies Guest Artist Edition by Greg Hyland debuts in September 2016, followed by a new interpretation of Munchkin by Edwin Huang in November 2016.
The Zombies Rise Again!
Those Munchkin Zombies just keep coming! Munchkin Zombies Guest Artist Edition is a new take on the sickest, silliest Munchkin! Players of Munchkin Fu will recognize Greg Hyland's art style; this set features his over-the-top zombies kicking down doors and eating brains. Attack the "monster" humans (and a few rogue zombies), protect yourself with whatever armor you can scrounge up during your lurching search for brains, and level up or die. Again.
Rhea Friesen, Marketing Director of Steve Jackson Games, was overheard commenting, "Brains. Delicious, yummy, Braiiiins!"
Greg Hyland is the creator of Lethargic Lad, a comic strip (and now webcomic) that has been running since the late 1980s. He has worked with Steve Jackson Games on several projects, including Munchkin Fu, Burn In Hell, and Chez Guevara. Hyland also illustrates Murphy's Rules for the monthly Pyramid PDFzine.
Re-Redux!
If you thought we would release one Guest Artist Edition of our original Munchkin game and call it a day, you don't know us as well as you should! That's right: Now you can see Munchkin interpreted by a third phenomenal artist.
This edition is illustrated by Edwin Huang, the artist on the hit Image comic Skullkickers (and who also drew the art for Munchkin Skullkickers!). Huang's high-action art style is sure to lend a new, exciting perspective to the classic game of killing monsters and taking their stuff!
When asked for comments, Munchkin Line Editor Andrew Hackard explained, "I loved Edwin's work on Munchkin Skullkickers and I'm glad we're able to work together again. KA-POW!"
Both Guest Artist Editions include completely re-illustrated game cards, a gameboard featuring the guest artist's illustrations, new male and female standies for each player, plus a die and rules.
