From 8am to 5pm CST today, Steve Jackson Games will be blacked out. We are joining Reddit, Wikipedia, and hundreds of other sites worldwide in protest of the SOPA/PIPA legislation being considered by Congress.
During the blackout, you won't be able to read our content, participate in our forums, or spend money in our web stores.
Imagine the whole net like this. Every day.
If SOPA/PIPA passes, sites like our forums will be vulnerable to clueless or even malicious takedowns under Federal authority. ANY forums. ANY PLACE where the public (that's you) posts original content. That won't just affect your freedom of speech. It will reduce your ability to get information. And it will damage Web commerce, which will kill jobs and whole businesses.
It won't put much of a dent in piracy, though, because the people responsible for this legislation don't understand the Internet and are easily panicked by Hollywood lobbyists. But it will screw up YOUR Internet.
