I am very happy to announce that Phil Reed has accepted election to the Board of Directors of Steve Jackson Games Incorporated. I've been taking Phil's advice for a while now, and the company is better for it . . . therefore, this. Thank you, Phil!
GURPS Low-Tech (and GURPS Low-Tech: Instant Armor) offered lots of information on armor throughout the ages. However, there simply wasn't room to describe specific armor outfits of historical figures. Until now. GURPS Loadouts: Low-Tech Armor has 40 ready-to-use loadouts from throughout history, including the protection worn by Bronze Age chariot archers, Viking raiders, Crusaders, Japanese Samurais, and dozens more. It's all detailed, ready-calculated, and totaled; all you need to do is spend your hero's money, note the encumbrance, and get on with the gaming . . . but first you've got to add this supplement to your armory!

The Steve Jackson Games offices, including the Munchkin World Headquarters, will be closing this Friday for the holidays. Thursday is our end-of-year Game Day, so really Wednesday is the last day to expect anyone to get anything done. (Except that 2014 is so packed that I can't possibly afford to take a lot of time off; I plan to be working most of the break.)
Most important, Wednesday is the last day Warehouse 23 is accepting orders this year; any orders placed after noon on Wednesday run a real risk of not being shipped until January.
Munchkin News is taking a hiatus as well. We'll see you in January!
Last month, we released the booster Munchkin Gets Promoted, so here's a rule about promotional items!
You may use this rule in any Munchkin-family game, including Munchkin Quest, when you are about to play or use a one-time promotional item (coin, bookmark, certain special cards, etc.). Playing the 2013 Silver Piece "buys" you a second use of that item, later in the same game. Give the 2013 Silver Piece to the player most nearly across the table; that player may not use the coin this game. If using the item requires you to give it away or destroy it, you do not need to do that until the second use of the item or the end of the game, whichever comes first.
You may only use a single coin per game . . . except that this coin lets you play it along with another one if you want. You cannot play a 2013 Silver Piece on another 2013 Silver Piece!
Please see the full announcement here.
Happy designing and testing! We're pretty sure you'll amaze us with what you come up with!

The Imperial Navy announced today that the private cruiser Sargon, formerly the private transport of the deceased Archduke Dulinor, will be returned to Archduchess Isis, his daughter and heir. Dulinor was killed in 1116 while shuttling to the surface of Capital in one of Sargon's small craft, which exploded while entering far orbit. The cruiser has been in Imperial custody since the day of the assassination, under guard at an undisclosed Imperial Naval facility, but was recently released back to the Archduke's family, as the Naval investigators feels no further evidence in the crime will be forthcoming. Archduchess Isis is not in system at the present, but her office issued a press release announcing that a crew will be provided to return the vessel to Illelish, but gave no further details.
But that's not all, Katana Kats in Samurai armor are here!
And Something Fishy with Archerfish!
The Warehouse 23 staff will be taking a much needed and deserved break, the warehouse will be closed the 23rd through the 27th of December.
We'll be back in the office on December 30, 31st & January 2nd & 3rd and normal operations will resume January 8th.
Need to pick up a last minute gift for the holidays? Never fear! Your Friendly Local Game Store should have just what you need.
Happy Holidays from everyone here at Warehouse 23!
